Although our Phoenix preschool programs are available through the whole year, we have many families who take off for fun adventures during the summer and have come back to school to tell us all about their experiences! This is also the time of year when we have the privilege of welcoming many new families into our programs. If you’re joining us for the first time, we are so excited to get to know you and understand the value you’ve placed on us to ensure the safety and well being of your preschooler during their fundamental learning years. Getting “back to school” can be a big transition for everyone! Let’s explore some ways to ease into this new, back to school routine.
Make Breakfast Time Smooth and Easy For Your Preschooler
Having healthy, high-protein breakfast options ready in the morning can make getting your little one off to preschool a breeze. Talk Through Seperation Anxiety With Your Preschooler
Seperation anxiety is a very normal feeling for children under five, especially around back to school time. The best way for families to handle this big feeling is to talk about it and make the plans for the day known. A visual schedule can aid young children in knowing what to expect from their day and when to expect their parent back for pick up. At Valley Child Care & Learning Center, our classroom schedules are always available to families if you would like to talk through what they can expect from their day and when you’ll be back. We also encourage families to send along a picture of their family for their child to visit throughout the day.
You can also update your family library with titles that include books about going back to school and these big feelings.
Talk About What Makes Preschool Special
In high-quality preschool programs such as Valley Child Care & Learning Center, you can expect your child to enter a classroom that is captivating and welcoming. Our programs include equipment that is state of the art and developmentally appropriate for infants, toddlers and preschoolers. When going back to school, take the opportunity to discuss and focus on the things you know your child will enjoy most! Each of classrooms include centers such as home living, science, blocks, writing, manipulatives, art, sensory, math, reading and so much more – ask your child what their favorite place to play is and help them explore new ideas for their play. Our classroom design and lesson plans are created around what research has shown for many years – that children learn best by learning through play! This means that the interactions and play experiences they have during their busy days result in a long-term learning experience!
By partnering with Funshine Express we offer a learning experience that is broken down into into appropriate age groups and keeps children engaged while continually making new discoveries. Our preschool lesson plans are written to align with Arizona’s Early Learning Standards, giving preschoolers the tools they need to succeed in Kindergarten, and beyond.
We are so excited to continue to learn and grow with your family! If you aren’t yet enrolled in our program, stop by one of our nine, convenient locations or give us a call – today!
